… for you on tour!
Since he started working at Hotel National in February 2013, our hotel manager Norbärt National made it his business, to show Düsseldorf´s sights to our guests. He also visits and controls our suppliers. You can trust his recommendations!
Our Norbärt National shows Düsseldorf’s best sights and what you should not miss during your stay.
You want to take a guided tour yourself? Buy the tickets directly in our hotel! The 1.5 hour bus tour shows interesting places around and in the center of the metropolis on the Rhine. You could also book the “HopOn-HopOff”-concept for your bus tour that allows you to get on and off the bus on every stopping point you like. Discover the sights of Düsseldorf in the pace you prefer!
The old town of Düsseldorf is a popular excursion destination. Whether you prefer a relaxed dinner, shopping or a night in clubs and bars – there is something for everyone.
Discover the longest bar in the world! Numerous bars, cafés, breweries, clubs and boutiques can be found in the small alleys of the Old Town as well as the Burgplatz (castle square) with the castle tower and the beautiful riverside of the Rhine.
Complete you visit of Düsseldorf´s old town with the local “Alt”-beer from one of the five craft breweries located there.
Apart from the “Uerige”-brewery, there are the traditional houses “Schumacher”, “Schlüssel”, “Füchschen” and modern “Kürzer”. We recommend to learn about the different tastes of the “Alt”-beer during the “Alt”-beer safari! Tickets are available at out hotel.
The worldwide known “Kö” is another highlight you should have experienced in Düsseldorf. Have a look at the luxurious shops with jewelry, clothes and accessories and enjoy a walk along the small river “Düssel”. Maybe you meet Norbärt National 😉
The beautiful Königsallee is Düsseldorf’s shopping paradise. Here you find luxury, fashion, lifestyle, design and many different people walking along the way between the river “Düssel” and shop windows.
The Media harbor (Medienhafen) is definitely worth a visit. You could just walk along the river, see the “Landtag“ or have a look at Düsseldorf from the top of the Rhine tower.
Düsseldorf’s Medienhafen is a mix of modern architecture and the flair of the old trade port. Especially photographers should not miss this exciting scenery. Furthermore, there are located some very good restaurants and nightlife locations.
From the top of the Rhine Tower you have a beautiful view over the Medienhafen and the rest of Düsseldorf. The Rhine Tower – actually broadcasting – is one of Düsseldorf´s landmarks. This highest building of the city is more than 240 meters high. The tower was built between 1978 and 1982. On one side of the Tower, there is something special you can see from the old town’s side: The biggest digital clock in the world. At a height of 172.5 meters, there is a restaurant and on the viewing level (168 meters), there is the Bar & Lounge M168. Tickets for the tower are available at out hotel.
Düsseldorf does not have a normal zoo but an aqua zoo! There is a lot to discover – under water and on the border of water and land. One of hotel manager Norbärt’s favorite places!

Not right in the center of Düsseldorf, but worth a visit – the palace of Düsseldorf Benrath with its beautiful park.
The palace is located in the southern part of the city:
Benrather Schloßallee 100-106, 40597 Düsseldorf
At Christmas time, the center of Düsseldorf is especially beautiful. Hotel manager Norbärt could spend hours telling you about Christmas scents, winterly atmosphere, dainties, glühwein and flaming fire tongs punch.
Have a look at our Arrangements especially for the time of Christmas market.
Most important for our hotel manager is the right quality.
In order to make sure the service meets all requirements, he starts by checking the hotel itself.
Therefore he tests for example the sauna.
Our breakfast buffet it what out hotel manager has a close look at. And if needed, he helps as chef de cuisine himself.
The quality of our goods is also very important to Norbärt National. Therefore he checks personally what is used for example for our breakfast buffet. Among other things he visits the central market.
Of course he also checks the quality of fruits used for our homemade marmalades.
Nothing good comes for free: Norbärt even has to climb the vineyards along the river Mosel.
